2023 Church Picnic & Pow Wow

 

A church picnic to remember

Our 2023 Church Picnic is going to be an extraordinary even this year, becoming a combination picnic/pow wow! We will have guest musicians and dancers from the Iron Bear Singers group of Indigenous Americans. They will preform songs in the Southern Plains singing style which have Ponac influence. And the musicians and dangers represent many tribes from the Midwest.

DON’T FORGET TO BRING A LAWN CHAIR

WHEN: Saturday, June 24th from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.

WHERE: Backyard of Saint Joe’s church / St. Joeseph grotto area.

  • Food will include burgers, hot dogs, fry bread tacos, and beverages. Lunch will be served Noon - 1:00 pm.

  • At 1:00 pm, we will have a performance by a Hammond youth group choir.

  • At 1:30 pm, the Iron Bear Singers will begin the pow wow music & celebration.
